Woods: Are they going out of business?

Anyone know the actual status of Woods? They act like a company that's going down the tubes.
I've been waiting for an orchard auger for my Woods posthole digger ever since I bought it in October. Factory has promised a half-dozen delivery dates; so far, no-show.
Also, I finally had to cancel an eight-foot heavy-duty rear blade for my 6800: same story, too many missed delivery dates. Ordered an equivalent from LandPride, had it in a week.
For now, anyone know if I can substitute other brands of augers that will work in the Woods 1190?

There has been some indications that Woods is having some problems. I would think that your dealer should be able to help you with this. It's taking money out of his pocket!

My dealer has been going nuts dealing with Woods, and tells me he's "frustrated and embarassed." He's looking into acquiring the LandPride line, having already lost my rear blade order to another dealer.

My dealer has been telling me that Deere is going to buy Woods. Poor service now by Woods surely won't help Deere down the road if this is true.

It will not hurt JD anymore than,JD has hurt there selves by the cheaply made 513 rotary cutters they sold.

Possibly Woods is trying to complete their orders for JD, as I heard they are making the Frontier line for JD now. Supplying JD dealers with a new line must put quite a strain on a mfg firm if they are also trying to keep up with regular production. The Frontier line looks very good, from what I have seen so far.

Sorry to hear about the problem with the auger. But yes there are a few standard sizes for output shafts on them. So there are many different kinds or brand names that you could get to work in it. That way you wouldn't have to wait for the woods to arrive.

I've got a Danuser and it's tough as nails. The output shaft on mine is 2-9/16" round . I think if you go to their website you will see a posthole digger that looks alot like yours.

Sorry, I couldn't resist. I've actually had no trouble with woods and my local dealer actually seems to be shifting some business from Landpride towards woods.

I'm not sure about the status of the company. The local dealer used to be a Woods rep but he doesn't carry any Woods products now. They were requiring him to buy a lot of inventory and tried to muscle him into not selling other brands.

Sorry to here about your problem with Woods. I was wondering if it could be a regional problem? We are a Woods dealer in Western KY and are not having any problems getting Woods product . Some things take longer than others, but that happens with any mfg. . Woods has been struggling, but we have not been notified of the company being bought by Deere. Our territory rep. tells us that the deal made with Deere to produce it's Frontier line helped to bolster the company, but gave no indication of a complete sellout.
