I just picked up my new Woods BB60:30 yesterday. As I was unable to find must online for comparison between the old BB60XC and the BB60:30 I decided to start a post with a some short term comparisons and later long term observations,

I believe the BB60:30 may be heavier as the old BB60X (no clutch 554 lbs) is 118 lbs lighter than the BB60:30 (with clutch 672 lbs) as I don稚 believe the clutch weights more than 50 lbs. I could not find the weight of the BB60XC for comparison.

My buddy has the BB72 and has bent the lower rear section that the chain or metal guard bolts to and looking at the new 纏 channel design I don稚 believe this will be an issue as the new design looks very solid. Also the design of the assembly that attaches the rear wheel to the deck appears to be much stronger on the BB60:30 compared to the BB60X.

The BB60:30 has mower blades that are 1/2 thick by 4 wide in comparison to the BB60X which has 3/8 thick by 3 wide blades I believe. The BB60:30 blade pins now have grease fittings that were not on the BB60X.

The BB60:30 comes Quick Hitch compatible, in short it has the bushing already on the pins.

The BB60:30 has a nice hanger installed to put your PTO shaft in while disconnected from the tractor, it is also adjustable.

The BB60:30 has replaceable skip shoes on the bottom where as the BB60X only had welded skid shoes as standard equipment.

The BB60:30 rear wheel only has 5 adjustment holes starting at 1 and each hole raises the rear just a bit over 1.75 in comparison to the BB60X had 1 increments, note both have the same range 1 to 9?

If I notice any other differences I will update as I see them and I will do a long term review in several months. Not saying one is better than the other just showing a comparison.

Just finished an 8 acre field overgrown with brush with no issues and if I can push it over with the bucket the cutter will chew it up. It is advertised as able to cut up to 2" trees and I can say it will. But with only 25HP at the PTO the tach will drop about 500 RPM when you hit anything that is 2" or slightly larger. but no real issue.
