I just picked up a used Woods/Gill SR65 box scraper & it is the smallest of the SR models which have "retractable" scarifiers. Basically the beam the scarifiers mount on pivots 90d so the shanks are parallel to the ground when they are retracted.

There are only two height settings (notches) for the shanks & when the beam pivots, the shanks are either all the way down or completely retracted, no in between. What I've found so far is that even on the higher setting, the teeth are probably 6" below the blade, far more than I would like for our driveway & the rocky soil around here.

I was wondering if anyone else has this model & might offer any tips for using this model box. There is no info on set-up in the manual. I may add some extra notches to the shanks for a lighter cut but thought I'd ask first as I may be missing something.

Thanks, TD
