Got some quotes today from my local dealer on a couple Woods Box Scrapers, I priced out the BSM72 and BSM84, these are a well built, I'd say medium duty at the least, box scraper. I was quoted 1300 for the 72 and 1500 for the 84, I believe that was not including sales tax. It is an extra 200 something for the tailgate setup, which I am not getting. What do you think of that pricing? I have not bought anything other than parts and filters from this dealer in the past so I don't know how their pricing is on implements.

The BSM72 is about 700 pounds, so it should be a good one. I don't know about the pricing though.

A box blade is one implement that just doesn't have much on it that can go wrong, so it's one of the safest implements to buy used if you want to save some money.

Ya it's 680 or something the 84 is 750. There are never any good use ones around besides the lightweight ones I don't want

I see you have the same tractor I do - a Kioti DK50SE. I'm using an old 72" Gannon model with hydraulic scarifiers. It will stop my tractor dead in it's tracks if I take too big of a bite. And 72" covers my tire tracks.

You could probably handle a 7 footer but you'll be limited in how big a bite you can take. I'd pick the 6 footer again if I was doing it all over.

Right, I bought my fairly heavy 72" Midwest used for around $400.

Blucoondawg, that pricing sounds about right. I paid $1400 before tax for a new BSM84 a couple of months ago in Virginia. The 750 lb weight is correct, and while Woods calls it medium duty, I think they're understating it. It is very well built.

Compared to their heavy duty units, it is only medium duty.

You may want to check out everything attachments as they have a 84 inch for under $1000 and it appears to be a pretty good unit . They show a video of it in use also .

The heavy duty units sold through Woods are the Gannon models and are very heavy duty and far out of the price range for an occasional user like myself. Those were running 2500 to over 3000 and the dealer has never sold one.

But then their medium duty units are frequently heavier than many other brands' heavy duty!

When I finally had a chance to examine the BSM84 in person, I was surprised by the "medium duty" description. In the competitive world of modern marketing, the use of superlatives strikes me as more the norm: "heavy duty," "industrial strength," "extreme duty". :)

I've got a Woods BSM72 and love it. It IS a heavy built BB, compared to any you'll walk on a lot and see around here. My dealer had to order mine as he didn't stock them cause they weren't comparable in price to the ones people would just go to tractor supply and buy. Guess most people don't research much. Few of the guys at the dealer remarked "now that's a box blade" when I picked it up.

Forget what I paid but I got the hinge rear blade as well. I've got a thread on here with pics and discussion of specs compared to other brands I was looking at during the research I was doing. I'm sure I mentioned what it cost as well, if you search my posts you'll find it.
