Anyone using a Woods Loader instead of the Kubota loader, seems the Woods spec out a little better with lift etc.

My common reply would be who knows the most about the tractor? Kubota or woods? I'd trust Kubota to know what the front ends weight limits are on the tractor and how much it can carry as well as that the specs used for performance weren't off another make tractor using the same model loader.

Not sure if this helps, but I have a Bush Hog loader on my Kubota and have no issues at all. Plus it was quick detach, whereas the Kubota wasn't.

I'm a die hard Kubota, buy, BUT as far as trusting Kubota, I'm wondering.

Why is it they do not have a backhoe on a cab tractor? I was told because you can't get at the tractor controls from outside the tractor. OK then why does New Holland, and Deere make them??

In talking to Kubota at an Ag show, they said we don't make the backhoe for our cab tractors, but "others" do - HUH??? So I can buy your tractor, but I have to get the backhoe elsewhere, and that's OOOOOOK??

Granted there's safety issues they have to concerned about and can't do some things for all people, because of liability etc., and all mfg have to be concerned about that. Sorta like pickups they keep dumbing down the specs ( we all know you can get an extra 100hp our of most diesel PU trucks) yet the mfg's won't produce them from the factory that way.
Same with load limits, they dumb down the carry and tow capacity to low numbers, and we all know there a lot of fudge room there. again like I said they can't post higher numbers because some yahoo, will get killed.

So I am finding it hard trusting Kubota who is playing it extra careful and too safe at the expense of me getting better lift capacity.

Kendall, the answer to that is easy! To put their hoe on the back of their cab tractor is easy! You just don't have room for the operators seat with their cab tractors! They mount their backhoes tight to the tractor just like the pro units that are built making them a structually sounder unit for operation. The further back the hoe the more leverage it has against the tractor chassis!

The other manufacturers are mounted further to the rear of the tractor allowing room for the seat. Not for nothing I like an open tractor rear to make access to the controls of both ends of the tractor easier!

Art, yep now I get it. I sure don't want to go to New Holland, and never Deere.
My local dealer did say they can mount my woods backhoe on the new tractor, with extensions.

My current Woods Backhoe is on a frame attached to the center of the tractor with a bracket and another bracket in back by the 3ph, so the whole frame of the tractor is supporting the backhoe.

One interesting thing is he also said he could mount in on the front with a quick disconnect, now that's interesting.

Kubota also did mention at the show, with a wink and a nod, that I should perhaps "wait" Hmmmmmm.

I have been hexed! What is a Turkey bucket?

I'm quite sure that Kubota is thinking about the casual backhoe user that needs a cab.

Kendall, I see no problems with a Woods loader on your Kubota. The Woods company make very good equipment. I have 3 pieces of Woods equipment and wouldn't trade them for another brand. As far as backhoes and Kubota cabs, my woods hoe works great with my 3430HSTC tractor. You just have to get the right mount.

That setup looks beautiful Kubotabilly. I love it!

I am currently talking to my dealer about adding a Woods backhoe to my Kubota that is arriving in a few weeks. (That will make it about 8 weeks since my order. Kubota says there is a tire shortage. The tractor is built waiting for the R4's. Figure that).

I got the idea for it from guys like you here on TBN where you have mounted 3PT and sub-frame BH's to Cab Kubota's. I never did understand why Kubota never offered it. Maybe they see they are missing business.

BTY, I would like to hear more about the option of attaching it to the front of the tractor with a quick attach!

I'm quite sure that Kubota is thinking about the casual backhoe user Unfortunately Kubota, is not thinking about any backhoe user with a cab, that's the problem. My "casual" comment goes to the braking th eframe and having the Tractor fall apart. By " casual" I meant not leaving in on 24/7 and digging ditches all day long as in a construction unit.
Most of who Kubota sells to is the casual" usage. I don't think I have read anywhere here someone here is using their equipment 12 hours a day seven days a week.

I'm having a tough time staying loyal to Kubota while their competition is giving customers what they want.

Catman1 - yep that's what I thought and wanted to hear and see, my dealer also concurs with you, though he did indicate don't do it till the warranty is up so Kubota does not deny warranty work.

Turkey Litter Bucket. - It's the MOTHER of all buckets the size and height is what I needed for large brush. The bucket is heavy, so you use it for light bulky items, hence the name, for cleaning out Turkey feathers...

It would create to much stress on the front of a compact tractor. There is no way that a CUT could use a BH on their loader without damaging the loader and more than likely where the loader is mounted to the tractor.

I will ask my dealer about mounting the Woods before the warranty is up. He did not seem to indicate it was a problem. He even told me I could add any implement to the Kubota financing, but I will ask him directly about it. I guess if they will finance it, it would be very hard for them to deny warranty.

My tractor will be a M8530, which is a strongly, well built tractor, more of a commercial grade tractor then a normal CUT tractor. It's not like say a Case commercial built machine, but it is much tougher and sturdier built then a smaller CUT and has heavier grade metal. It is also has only a Cat II 3PT, not a CAT I.

Kendall69,

I have the Woods FEL on my 3130. Works great and never had a problem. It specs about the same as the Kubota 723 and the price difference between the two allowed me to buy a set of QA forks.

Woods makes some great products. I have not used a Woods loader, but of the aftermarket loaders I have used, I don't like them nearly as much. They just always seem rougher, slower and never detach as easy. If I was looking for a tractor, having a manufactuer loader would be important to me. I am currently using a NH TC33 with a non NH loader. I do not like it for all the reasons I just stated.

My dealer said that there were front-end warrenty issues if you use the Woods (or other than Kubota).

That seems a little weak, but I don't have the experience to know otherwise.

I talked to my dealer. He said there would be no warranty issues if I used a Woods BH on my Kubota. I can even add it to the financing with the tractor.

Catman,

Does that apply to an FEL as well?

   / Woods Loader on a Kubota #18
I will check with him on Monday and see what he says about and FEL.

We are a very large dealer for both Woods and Kubota. Kubota's loaders are very price and spec competitive with Woods, I don't see enough reason not to use a Kubota loader. The fit is good with Woods, but not as good as Kubota can do since the loader is made for just one tractor.

Backhoes are a different story, Kubota has better mounts, but in some models Woods does make a stronger, more advanced and better priced unit.

Woods makes a BH that will fit on a Kubota Cab model, both with a 3PT (not a good choice) or a sub-frame (the way to go). Kubota does not make such an animal.

That's why I decided on the Woods. Does anyone know if another company that makes a Kubota cab compatible. BH? I wonder why Kubota has dropped the ball on this?
