Anyone using a woods RD72 with more than 35 pto HP?

Now that the snow is starting to melt, it is time to think about a mower.
The specs say the gear box is only rated to 35HP but I have 39 HP at the pto.
My guess is that it would probably be fine, but I bet it voids the waranty.

They make a PRD7200 that can handle it easily, but I have an opportunity on a gently used RD72.

You'll be fine. The belt will slip LONG before you'll ever transmit more than 35HP through that gearbox.

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

Am using with 42HP now but have used with 75HP for lawn only. No prob for simply mowing normal height grass. Could be a prob with heavy HP and thick grass or popping the cluch in thick grass. Don't do that.

As noted, belt would slip anyway.
