Woods RM 90 mower

I picked up a used wooods RM 90 mower today in real nice shape. Definately a heavy mower, anyone using one of these and how do yo like it.

RM90's are good old mowers, operative word is OLD. They are simple in that they have no gearbox, but the belt is very long, and quite expensive. Be kind to the belt and you should be happy.

I'm not familiar with the 90 mower. I have this RM990 Woods Equipment Company - RM990 series 90? and really like it. Is yours similar?

I purchased a RM-90 in the Spring, it was in bad shape, but it was cheap, under $1,000 I tore it down to the basics and cleaned and painted everything to match my New Holland Blue. I have used it to mow the Cemetery next to my house it makes my 29HP tractor talk, and if the grass is too long, I have to slow way down, but it does a very nice job if you have the chains set up right. It took a while playing with the chains/rear wheels adjustments till I got it right. But now I get the same results as the top of the line finish mower. Good luck with it.

The RM 90 is the predecessor to the 990. The RM 90 has the big wheel driving the belt, which i believe gives it fantastic blade speed.
