Snowblower Woods SB 74 snowblower

Abyone with a Woods snowblower. I recently replaced my Lucknow clower with a Woods SB 74. It doesnt blow the snow as far as my Lucknow did. The discharge chute is at about a 75 to 80 degree angle I was thinking that if I had it modified to about a 90 degree angle it would throw the snow further. Does anyone else have this problem?

Whats the fan diameter.... the Woods blowers have the 3 blade fan and are usually smaller in diameter then the "Canadian" brands

I purchased a SB 52 this last year and to notice that it doesn't throw the snow that far also. Im wondering what the changes between the SB and the SS models. Mine is at least 10 years old. But in great shape.

2 years ago I took off the 84" lucknow blower from my big tractor and bought a SS52 for my TZ25. Wow, I was impressed so much, I ditched the lucknow. It hurls the snow pretty good. It does have a 3 blade fan, but it is pretty big for the size of the machine (23 inches!) My drive is only about 325 feet, so I'm not out there too long.

I have an SS-60 and I am very pleased with the distance it will throw snow. Not sure what the difference would be between the SB's and SS models.

Bigger the Diameter of the fan = The further it will throw.
Number of blades = How quick it removes the snow

I'd take a blower with a 3 blade 27" Diameter fan over a 18" diameter 4 bladed fan equipped blower...
