hi all, I have a brand new L3400 and I recently bought a used vertical woodsplitter designed to mount on the 3pt.hitch (the brand is AMERICAN).The woodsplitter is old and I had concerns about running dirty, who knows how old, hydrolic fluid directly into my trans. So I drained as much out of the splitter as I could while replacing some hoses. Now I am ready to hook it up. I called the manufacturer and they told me the splitter valve has a pressure relief built into it so I dont blow out my pump. But is there a way to run fluid through the splitter and flush it a bit before hooking up the return? Also,as the splitter ram and hoses fill up (est. 2qts. based on what drained out) I am sure I will need to top off the tractors hydro. fluid. The old fluid in the splitter was definitly kind of dirty looking. Is there anything I should know? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
