I'm a newbee to tractors and I'm confused by spec sheets that contradict themselves. For example, I went to Kubota's website to check out the L3400 and L2800. The spec sheet shows the L2800/L3400/L4400 all with 4 cyl. diesels, with each sucessive model having a few more cubic inches. When I go to the Competitive Comparison display, the tractors compared with the L3400 Kubota all are said to have 3 cyl. engines, including the L3400. Which spec sheet should I believe? Also, I find it curious that both the Main and the PS hydraulic pump capacity on the L2800 is greater than on the L3400. In any case, both the L2800 and the L3400 are shown to have the same lift capacity.
Next question: Referring to the Rear PTO; What does "Live Continuous with ORC" mean? This comment is listed with the L3400HST 4WD. My last question has to do with your recommendations for buying equipment to take care of 15 acres of moderately sloping land, the center of which is grass (85%), surrounded by woods (15%). There will be a half-acre garden to establish, numerous tree plantings and post holes to do. I'll have a 200 ft. driveway to maintain and I'll probably want to clear out the underbrush in the treed areas and, perhaps knock down a few of the smaller trees to establish an open grove effect. I don't know yet what drainage problems I might have to solve. But the land is pretty "high & dry." Location is between Springfield and Branson, MO--if I can ever get my house in Arizona sold so I can move!
Thanks for any help in clarifying these points. One day I hope to be able to put all this newfound knowledge to use when I buy my first tractor ever!!
