Woolly worms/caterplllars are changing?

According to folk lure when the woolly worms/caterpillar are mostly full black in color it,s going to be a long and cold winter.Well today I have noticed the woolly worms around here are fully black in color as they were last year.I guess we might be in for another long winter?

I've only seen a few, the rest froze to death last winter.
Of the survivors I have seen, some look normal, some have a black stripe running lengthwise down the center of their back and no bands.

rest froze to death last winter....that is the coolest thing about them they freeze but their blood does not form ice crystals so they thaw out in the spring. They also live in Antarctica and it may take some 10 years to turn into a moth.

Interesting..... and, also makes me feel not so bad about some of my long-term projects !
