Snowblower Work Lights on blower or ROPS

Hi All,
I am working at getting my 3pt hitch snowblower ready for the coming winter and am trying to decide whether to mount the lights right to the blower or on the ROPS. Does anybody have experiences with either?
I know the drawback of on the blower is it is very close to the work and the beam of light might not have a chance to spread out. There is also a disadvantage of on the ROPS of the light just hitting the blowing snow and causing it to not light up the area beyond.

Hey,
I zip tied a 2x4 to the bottom of my rops and screwed a set of advance auto work lights to it. One light is aimed forward and one back. Don't have a blower but they work fine when I'm plowing at night.

I mounted mine on the back of the cab and I find they work very well there. They are nothing fancy, just the cheap rubber body sealed beam work lights.

I have one mounted on my ROPS and I sometimes use a magnetic mounted one on the blower, usually stuck next to the chute. It plugs into a 12V accessory connection I mounted on the back fender, the beam is a flood and not a spot so it only throws the light a short dsitance but it works real well for lighting up any shadows from the ROPS light.

I have them on both and believe that the ROPS lights are best in all cases...not only for navigating in reverse and for blowing snow, but for messing with the shear pins if/when they break, etc. ...and then there might just be times when the blower isn't mounted and you still want to see where you are reversing at night.
