Oil & Fuel working on my gc2300 for the first time

Im going to attempt to change the oil and such on my tractor and i was wondering if anyone had any tips... What tools,filters ect to use?
I also plan on changing the fuel filter..(perhaps abit ambitous for a begginer?)
anyway if you have any tips PLEASE feel free to swamp me! i need all the help i can get! thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup:

Is this a new tractor's first service or simply an oil and fuel filter change? Your manual has very good guidance on everything you need to do for the first service. It does a pretty good job of explaining the steps and what you need to pay attention to. You might also want to consider changing hydraulic/transmission fluid and coolant, while you're at it...

I agree, I found the owner's manual to be pretty clear on what needs to be changed when. How many hours are on the machine? That dictates when things need to be changed.

Ditto. I planned a time when the weather was nice so I could work with the garage doors open and some classic rock on the shop stereo.

Then I took my time and did the 50 hour service, including the hydraulic oil (tranny and front end). It's pretty straight forward, doesn't require any special tools, and was really a lot of fun.

I didn't do the fuel filter at that time since there just wasn't that much diesel fuel that had been through it - so I'll do that one of these days.

I took the opportunity to switch to synthetic oil, and if you're interested you can read volumes about oil debates in another forum on this site. :confused2:
