It's snowing. They're predicting 4 - 7 " followed by sleet & freezing rain. I don't think I'll be working in the garden today. Heh, heh. heh!

Are you near Milford in Pike county. I am hoping to get up to deer camp Sunday to do some recreational shooting. It's about 8 miles west of Milford.

Weather is about the same as yours here in Central PA (State College). No garden work today. Just watching it snow and listening to the oil furnace click on and off. Figure a few more hours before I get out there and clean the snow off the deck and driveway. Can't wait to fire up the JD 3720 and have some fun. :)

Flintlock, I'm in Susquehanna County, quite a way to the north & west. But, the forecast for Pike County didn't look much better - a little less snow & more sleet & freezing rain. Good Luck if you travel!

Sunnyside,
I was out in my driveway tamping down the snow on the gravel with my wife's Explorer. I read in a post here that that's a good way to get a base over gravel so that my snowblower doesn't pick it up. I was going to try to tamp it with FEL on the B7800 but I would have had to move the Explorer any way. The blower on my BX2200 usually makes short work of it, but if it gets windy I'll be out several times clearing it out.
Enjoy the snow, B4 we know it it'll be warm and it will be all gone.:)

I got out Tuesday and did a little bush hogging.:D It was probably too soon as I left a lot of tracks.:( But gosh it was fun to put a beating on the wild roses. I guess I should roll over and pull the covers back over my head. Will some one wake me when spring finally comes.:D

We got 7-8" of snow yesterday. I spent the afternoon pulling my 2 Yr. old Grandson around on his toboggan and playing with him in the house. This morning I cleared the snow with my BX2200 and Blower. The snow moved easily and there was little wind so it wasn't much of a chore. When I was finished I was cleaning the snowblower with a broom and I noticed my leaf blower so I tried it and it worked fine for clearing the snow off the machine.:)

Pennwalk is mowing pretty effective on the rose bushes?

If I can roll over it with the Bush hog it shreds the stalks back to the roots. It seems like it slows the rose down so that it can be managed but it may be that if I left them alone in several years they would start to grow back. We have several meadow areas that I am trying to keep from turning into woods. There are a couple of big rose bushes that would swallow me and the tractor. I need to attack them with the pole pruner. It is a constant battle. Don't tell my wife but I like to do it. This is a lot of work darn it :D We need more equipment! :D

Chris,
Thanks. I have some on my property and I like having it because the rabbits and deer like it, but I've just started mowing my fields to keep them fields as well.
