Working under pressure or under-pressured?

Hi Ken,

MY FEL is fast enough at 1600 RPM. It's annoyingly slow at dumping, but I don't believe this is related to RPM.

I don't have a tooth bar yet. I don't plan to do any digging. I do a lot of scooping in loose dirt, but I don't think a tooth bar would help me there. My curling power is already marginal, and I think it would be even harder to curl with the teeth stuck deeply into the dirt pile.

I will be getting some rock delivered next year but have no idea what my tractor can handle. Could you do me a big favour & post a picture of a rock your tractor can actually lift & carry. )</font>

Kozak, here's my post in the attachment section. Enjoy!

jinman,

Thanks for the pics. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif That's quite the rock hunting mechanism you have there. So with them limestone rocks, those were the biggest you could haul out ? I was hoping to go with granite but for the same size I'm sure they will be too heavy & would have to get someone in to locate the boulders. That would take all the fun out of it.

For your idea of using straps, how would you rig those up ??

Thanks Again, Much Appreciated !!

Kozak, I think I can roll the rock onto a cargo net or lift it and put the net under the rock. Then I'd remove the rock bucket to give me extra lift power. I'd connect the cargo net to the quick-attach plate using straps or chain and lift the rock. That would give me a ton of lift. I don't want to handle much more than a ton on my loader anyhow. That would be a pretty good size piece of granite wouldn't it?

BTW: We probably should take this discussion about rocks to my "Rock-o-dile Hunter" post in the Attachments section. Someone may come here to read about hydraulic pressures and end up scratchin' their heads wondering why we are suddenly talking about rocks. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
