Sunday I started it up and ran fine until I shut off. When I went to restart, the dash panel would not display any lights and motor did not crank. Dome light comes on though. I thought, dead battery, and charged overnight. Checked voltage, was 13 volts, but same thing happened, no dash display and no cranking. I hooked up jumper cable from my truck, and dash lights all came on when I turned key this time, but still no cranking. On the display it had error code symbol of a battery, owners manual ID'd as No Alternator Charge. Last night I put on charger, this this morning voltmeter read only 9.9 volts.

Monday I called the dealer who worked on it recently, but has never sent a promised tech or communicated as to when he might show up. Month ago had $4600 repair bill from them, felt like I was taken "to the cleaners", so I don't want to deal with them.

Do I have a faulty battery? Where is the best place to get a good quality replacement battery other than dealer?

What was the $4,600 bill for? Did it run fine after you go it back?

13 volts is kind of low. I'd try to jump it and see if that helps. As a general rule of thumb, I think Napa has the best quality parts. I've bought several batteries from them and they have all performed well.

If you think it's the battery, why did it lose it's charge?

Do you have a volt meter? What are you getting at the starter?

Have you looked at every fuse?

Are there any safety switches that might be out? or not engaging? PTO on? Clutch not depressed all the way? something in gear?

Most batteries are decent. I have a good Interstate battery warehouse near me, that I buy all my car and tractor batteries from. They have several different grades of batteries to choose from (not all grades have a battery to fit though).

Batteries don’t last long in Florida.

Have you checked your cables (Pos and Neg). Try jump starting by connecting truck Pos to starter and Neg to frame. I've had the cable go bad as well as a poor ground to frame. I just replaced Pos and Neg cables on my street rod that did the same thing. Pos cable was bad inside but changed both anyway.
