Well, I cant say I helped build that particular machine because I was still in HS in 67. But in the 70's the company I was serving my apprenticeship for Farrel Corporation, was contracted by Bucyrus Erie to build some huge gear cases for their earth movers, I remember some gears that we cut larger than 20 ft in Dia. I believe the gear cases that we built were to actually move the machine and power the tracks. It is hard to comprehend how big that stuff was until you actually see it yourself /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
