Worm Gear winch

I was looking at the the following 4T worm gear winch that is made to work of PTO/Drive shaft of a truck, RV or other vehicle. http://www.northerntool.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=334777&prmenbr=6970

On the spec sheet is says that "One way PTO drive-not reversible at drive shaft"

I was looking at purchasing this winch and running it off a hydraulic motor. Do they mean that the worm drive can only be run one way or that it can only be monted one way? IE: Can a worm drive be run in both directions with an hydraulic motor or just one way?

Could a person run cable spool directly from a Hydraulic motor?

I looked at picture of <font color=red> Winch</font color=red>. It looks like it has a clutch that is disengaged to let drum free wheel. As Franz stated it probably does not have a worm drive that will allow loads in both directions.

I have a worm gear winch, its mounted on 59 power wagon.I got it at sale, it was set up to have the pto shafts running on right side.I needed it on the left side, All I had to do was unbolt the worm gear and reverse it, very simple to do.The name of it is Koenig made in Houston Texas. Awesome winch, I've abused it alot and never broke it, only the 1/2 in. cable broke. Have it set up so it runs off the transfer case that way I can shift the tranfer to neutral,and then I can use the transmission, gears 1 thur 4 and R . This way I can winch very slow or very fast or in -R- to let something down or out!!!!
