Ok so I had a thought... which I felt you guys would be the best judge on if this idea has any merit or not.

I love my box blade, but sometimes wish it was out front of the tractor. So I thought why couldn't I weld up a quick-attach bracket for my FEL to mount it?

I'm trying to decide if this has any value or is a waste of time haha.

Reason would be to have a bit more control over the blade could change pitch with the FEL and would have to build in someway to control the angle but shouldn't be too hard to come up with?

Then when I have a pile of gravel I could lift and scrape off the top... instead of trying to get the tractor backed in enought to grab some.

Would this put too much stress on the FEL??? Any other reason's this isn't the best idea?

Thanks looking for your opinions!

This is just my opinion, but I don't see a benefit. For sure others have done it and must like it.

I would of done myself in a heart beat if I thought I wanted to use a 3pt implement on the front loader. If you think you will use it, then do it.

I have heard some say using a landscape rake on the loader was the reason they made or bought the adaptor.

It may be just me that doesn't think it's a great idea, but then again I went and made this wackadoodle adaptor to put a FEL implement on the 3 pt. Well the bucket isn't very practical except for a large trunk space, guess it could come in handy for putting some tools and equipment in. Using 3 pt forks is very handy, but I already modded my forks to couple directly to the QH, so I really never used this contraption.
Didn't cost me anything cause I had the extra pair of JD carriers.

I built one a year or so ago, and use it more than i thougth i would, makes moving implements around while bush hogging a snap, or loading them on a trailer if need be. The thing i use most with it is a boom pole, sense i had one for a three point hitch already, instead od building another for the front QA i built the hitch adapter.

I have seen a few people post pics on this forum of their fabricated 3pt quick hitch to FEL mounts. I think it is great idea. I think it is one of those things that once you build it you will find so many uses for it. It is a very secure way to lift 3pt attachments. Provides a dual use for all non-pto-powered 3pt attachments.

A carryall on the rear vs a carryall on the front. Much more uses when up front.

I would not consider it automatically adds more stress to the FEL. I mean a bucket used incorrectly can cause stress. Just use whatever is up front appropriately to mimimize stress and have fun.

Cool thanks for the opinions.

I found a couple older threads with links to one to buy too. I guess I'll think more about my uses and if it will fit what I need.

I thought of doing that too. I have a extra 3pt quick hitch, but just havent found a good use for doing it.

I have one of those 3pt QA for the FEL. I have used my box blade on it. Using the box blade that way is perfect for cleaning out ditches...

Here's a pic of mine...best I can remember I paid around $350 for mine...

Hmmm.. that subsoiler on your FEL has implications for plowing in cable up close to a building.

Not sure how you use that subsoiler that way but it reminds me of a friends subsoiler that I borrowed. He bent about a 1 inch piece of pipe and welded it to the subsoiler. It bent the other way from the tooth on the subsoiler. We just fed UF electrical cable through it as we travelled. Did a great job. We pulled it from the old fashioned rear 3 pt hitch though.
I do like your subsoiler though. Where can I get one like that?
