I've used my nearest which is 50 miles away about 3 times in 8 years. Once was for the right hand cab door that I blew out while drum mowing a neighbor's cruddy pasture.....rock strike....safety glass....shattered into a million pieces.
Called the dealer and withing 3 days I had a new door via UPS. Came from one of their warehouses in Plainview TX......south end of the TX. pan handle between Amarillo and Lubbock. Dealer said they had 7 in stock.
Another time I tore up a bearing on my AC idler arm. They had a redesigned heavy duty unit and rather than ordering a kit, the dealer ordered individual pieces. A couple had to come from Korea so it took about a couple of weeks. But it was fall and didn't need it.
Last one I was in a hurry and broke the combination headlight, warning, turn signal switch. Don't remember the wait, but nothing out of the ordinary.
To me a close dealer means nothing! You have the internet, credit card, and UPS. What more could you ask for? Last count Branson had 300+ dealers in the USA. That was roughly 5 years ago.
