Would this double joystick work with a grapple?

I'm definitely not an hydraulics pro. Would this double joystick set up work with a grapple? I'm buying an Armstrong Ag grapple and was planning on using the rear spool for the additional required hydraulics, but I'd obviously rather have the control at the joystick(s). It makes it seem like I could (obviously) run the existing FEL lines to the appropriate connections, and just add another set of lines up to the "bite" portion of the grapple. Have a 5530 with one rear spool. Am I making it too easy?

That will work, but it pretty big!

Have you looked at the electric diverter or 3rd function options? LOTS of info in the Hydraulics forum.

Yes this valve will work, but it's 25 gpm? I did a project like it recently for a fellow with a single spool added on to the bracket near the loader valve,such that it's comfortable and easy to reach. Ordered it from the Baily Hyd. catalog, for like $75. it's a 10 gpm and PB capable. Bailey # is 220-906 with a 220-915 power beyond sleeve. valve is o-ring ports so it's easy to plumb. I have a weatherhead hose crimper and have made my own hoses for years. I really enjoy projects like this.

If you wind up with this let me know how it works out. I too have a 5530 and was planning on using the rear remotes for a grapple, but this would be much better. If you can take some photos that would be awesome.

It will work but by the time you make a bracket and all of the hoses, plus fittings. You would still come out ahead purchasing a WRLong kit.

The big question, would be, why use such a large 25 GPM valve on a 5.2 GPM hyd implement pump.

This valve would have been more suitable.

It leaves the option for another function in which you would not have to move your hand to operate. It is my preference when adding remotes to a tractor. I did it on my big guy but the little guy came with a three bank set up. I have been tempted to replace it and still might now that I am adding a foot operated valve to the system. Adding hydraulics seem expensive up front but once you have them they seem to keep paying you back.
