I never did this. But I am getting a fuel delivery tomorrow and my big tractor is about empty. Takes 100 litres or so. All my bulk tanks have filters. How clean would the fuel be coming right off the truck? It would save me the bother of filling the tractor. Is it a gamble?

Life is a gamble - don't you have a fuel filter on your tractor?

I fret more about the price.

I'd fill up the tractor off the truck. As Newbury said, you have a filter on your tractor.

Local trucking company has a fuel truck fill their trucks every night.

Let the fuel filter on your tractor do it’s job. You will be fine.

Water is the common contaminant. It shows up due to condensation when things sit around. Fuel off the delivery truck isnt going to be hanging around long. Let your tractor filter & water separator do their thing on the unlikely chance there is a little contamination.

When you say that you are filling your bulk tanks, can we assume that you mean they are for diesel? (My father had a habit of running heating oil in his Kubota, until the dealer told him to stop.)

Thanks. It's been a chaotic day trying to repair a hydraulic problem and it's why that little saving in time filling my tractor would have been helpful.

I don't think they think much of a fine level of filtration on the trucks, but for 100 litres, I will take a chance.

All the fuel you burn comes off a truck. I don’t see the problem.
