Grapple WR Long grapple

I purchased a 48 inch grapple from Markham this summer for $850 delivered. It is built very well and can handle anything that my T2220 can deliver to it. I would do it again in a second.

Ken,

I took delivery of a Markham LD 48 Inch grapple in November with extra tines (like kennyd's). Has just been dry enough to use it lately, and I love it. Price was $1088 delivered, and I'd also do it again.

I talked with WR Long today and was qouted a price of 2600 with 250 for S&H but they will not sell directly to me and their nearest dealer is over 100 miles way. So would say that they are out of the picture.

Here is a photo of the grapple installed. I have the quick attach, and the WRLong electric over hydraulic valve. A very nice setup.

I too have a Markham 60" light duty. I had them add some bottom spacers in between the teeth for a 4.5" gap vs a 9". I priced many others and they beat everyone. WR Long I have heard is a great grapple but when I called dealers (since you can't buy direct) prices were $600 a part and none as low as Markham. I really like the unit and would do the same thing again. I use it with the WR Long 3rd function valve. I really like the convience of using the switch on my loader control to control the grapple. Shop on the internet and give Markham a call, can't hurt. Good luck!

I have the RBG2-60 model on a Kubota L4310. About the same weight as the bucket. It works fine for grubbing out roots and small boulders. But I expected more "pinching" power when picking up logs though. Maybe a brush style grapple would be better for that task.

I have a QuickTach on the loader - it makes changing between bucket, grapple and pallet forks easy. Highly recommended.

I looked at Anbo, but they're another $1,000 more.

I bought a rock bucket from these guys Skid Steer loader attachments and what actually came looked a lot more like a root grapple with side plates than their picture of a rock bucket.

That is a better design, and I really like it. Take the side plates off and I have a root grapple, put em back on and it is a rock bucket.

Anyway, I felt their price was good, and the quality seems right up there.

I have a 60 inch RGB on my TC40. It is true overkill you have to be carefull if you dump it like a bucket it will slam to the end of its travel. That said, it is heavy, strong, well built. I abuse it at every opportunity, Picked up a 1200 pound welding table the other day and carried it 4 blocks from the father-in laws house. I love mine would not give it up except for maybe a RGB2.

I purchased the larger grapple because it was old stock and priced great. I stopped several times and received prices from the salesman quoted increasing prices plus shipping with each visit. I saw it sit there for 2 years. One Saturday I stopped at closing only person there was the owner, He did the same, full list plus shipping, I asked him if he was planning on retiring with it in his inventory, he grumbled went in the office checked a file came out typed a number into the computer telling me I was going to pay CASH and printed invoice and handed it to me, LARGE % off list and no shipping. I was coming home from a auction and he knew I still had money in my pocket.

If you want a WR Long grapple call a dealer pay with plastic and have it shipped to you, it does not have to ship to the dealer and you pick it up. It just must just be purchased from a dealer. Most dealers will not stock and order it after you pay anyway.

The problem with this strategy is that the dealers typically quote list price or a very small discount in situations like that. I've never understood why a dealer would not give a nice discount when something was due to be drop shipped but significant discounts are rare. WRLong list prices are about 40-50% higher than what you can get an equivalent grapple from Markham.
