Friends,

My X304 was a bit slow so I adjusted the pedals to give additional vertical movement (video link below). While the adjustment worked great and gives more speed in forward and reverse, now my PTO / blades won't engage. Any advice on how to fine tune the adjustment to allow the blades to engage?

John Deere X3 & X5 Sereis Tractors: Slow In Forward Or Reverse - YouTube

Since there is a safety feature built in to kill the blades / turn the PTO off when going in reverse I assume there is a tolerance of adjustment in one or both pedals to allow the PTO to engage and the safety feature to function.

Update: I was able to fix the above issue by adjusting the rear pedal slightly higher. Now the PTO works with no issue and I have ground speed that's similar to factory settngs.

Thanks,

Joe

Suspect you changed the RIO switch position and need to locate it.. and re-position so it is making the necessary connection.

Thanks for the good info. I was able to get the PTO working by adjusting the rear pedal to sit a little higher.
