I was at the dealer today getting a key for my Gator. PS- don't leave your Gator where your horses can get to it. One of them ate my key!!! Back to the X. That is one impressive lawn mower!!! I took a spin on it and it is really nice to say the least. The one I tested was the 485 and it had a 60" deck, hydro, cat 1 hitch, etc. Price was $9199 out the door. I didn't think that was too bad considering the ruggedness of this unit. I don't think you could tear it up if you tryed. The new house we're moving to has alot of yard and no real easy way to make it into pasture so I may be seriously looking at this.

I too have been eyeing the new x's (I think that is a 62" deck, not just 60"). The ease with which the deck mounts is improved over the old 400 series. Plus Deere has improved the PTO to the front attachments, over the old series. I am waiting at least until I get a look at the all-wheel-steer units, and will probably go with the X485, but with the 54" deck. Too many trees just close enough that I cannot get between with a wider deck.
