Pod evening gents, been a little while since I've been on or posted... Time goes by way to quick. I posted a while back about installing a Kwikway loader on a JD x585. I diverted the oil from the pump through the loader valve then back to the original line. Everything works good that way.. A little problem with the power steering sometimes if using the loader and turning. I decided to replace the Kwikway valve with a new valve-it's a two spool with power beyond capability, regeneration ,float and it's a wobble stick. My question is if the stock lines are 1/2 inch, the lines on the loader are 1/2 inch then 1/2 inch lines should be plenty running from the new valve to the quick couplers for the loader right ? I am debating between running steel lines or hoses, any suggestions

Hello, Ty for the reply JJ, yea I have disconnected the lines from the way I originally had them hooked up. I was actually wondering if the lines coming from the pump are 1/2 inch, the lines on the loader are 1/2 than stands to reason that I could use 1/2 inch lines going from the new valve to the qc's that I will be installing for the loader. Someone locally said that the return had to be bigger but it's not on the factory setup. Also I'm debating between steel tubing or hoses ? Any preference or advantage to one or thee other ?

Steel tubing will give a better look, if you have the equipment to make them.

1/2 in hose seems a bit much for loader cyl, but if you have it, use it.

The hoses and fittings will be more expensive.

1/2 on the return hose is more than enough.

1/2 in hose should handle up to about 15 GPM.

thanks JJ, I took another look at the lines , they're probably all 3/8 tubing, I have a bunch of stainless 3/8 tubing on hand and a bunch of different fittings, a tubing bender so that's probably what I'll use. If 1/2 will handle 15 gals a minute than3/8 should be plenty for about 8 gals a minute. And I agree... I think the tubing will have a much nicer look, I'll post some pics when I get this project done. I also have a little. Backhoe attachment that has a pro driven pump, I'm going to see if I can figure out a way to mount it on my JD, it's actually off of a satin beaver
