X585 playing in the snow

We've had a few feet of snow in the past couple of weeks so the opportunity to use the 'blower was seized! The X585/47" blower combo has always worked exceptionally well. It never boggs out and traction is always better than I think it should be with turfs.

Only concern is that it's -27 out and since I came to download the pictures, I've gotten sidetracked...for 2 hours. Hopefully it starts!

I used that x585 47" blower setup with the HDAP tires for 7 years (2003-2009). With some of the bad storms we had last year I finally purchased chains, and what a difference they make (i have wheel weights also you may want to add them too for even better results in the deep stuff). I have a moderately sloped driveway. This year I traded to the X748 diesel. With the chains, added diesel power and lower fuel consumption it's working really well and deserves the "ultimate tractor" name.

The 47" blower had it's first "breakdown" this year. The black plastic hinge on the deflector chute broke. That was easy to replace. I was surprised that plastic lasted 7 years. Maintenance cost on the blower is $13.14 over 7+ years.
