Thanks for posting the pics, looks like they have a good group effort going there. Very nice of you to help out.

About the leveling and smoothing, might be a little difficult to do until the grass and straw breaks down. I would think that raking and stirring wouldn't help very much and would likely just pull the straw back to the surface.

When you till again in the spring it should smooth out nicely. If you can find a piece of a section harrow to drag it would be useful for smoothing next spring. Get one section that is about 5'x5' and rig with a chain. Another thing that would work is the Jake RAke you have seen on the forum.

Hi! Thanks for Beautiful Pictures of peoples and tractor! If you plant blueberries This is very good. But for garden. I could add a lot of lime and till again and wait . Because straw can add acidity. But straw + lime = good soil. For now dont till too deep. May be at spring more. Good luck! Oldmech

Thank you, I think I'll take some soil samples in the spring and see what it needs I have never tried that before, probably needs lime like you say.

I'll try and rig something up in the spring. Thank you.

Rob,
Might be a good idea to get the soil sample now and see what needs to be added. Some things take lots of time to react, better to let the amendments do their work over the winter months imo.
