Hi. My B7800 keeps stalling, just dying. It seems to be getting worse. I've changed the fuel filter and that seems to help, but there's something wrong with my seat.

On closer inspection, I find that the seat bracket on the right (Adjuster seat RH, part 6C140-45920) is cracked right across. So the seat shimmys around.

If I hold very still and don't move in the seat, I can keep the motor running and the tractor moving, but if I shift at all, which happens easily, it cuts out. This leads me to think that it has something to do with the safety switch.

My understanding of that switch is that it only engaged when the PTO was running, and you got off the seat. Is this correct? Have I buggered the safety switch?

Obviously I need that new bracket, but opinion needed: Will I need a new safety switch too?

Thanks,

PCP

The operator present switch (seat) will stop the engine if the seat is vacated while the tractor is in motion...eg pedal fwd/rev engaged. Tractor 'thinks' the operator fell off the tractor while in motion. At least that is the way mine B2650 works.

If I get off my B7800 and the hst pedal is not in the neutral position the engine shuts down. I'd fix the seat before dealing with anything else.
