Anyone using any KK XB equipment yet? How does the cost compare to regular KK stuff. I can get KK at the local Fleet Farm but I know the XB is special order. I want to look at getting a box blade, carry all and back blade. I know some of the regular KK will work but it sounds like people have had to alter the pins? How is it done? I don't have a welder.

Guy,

I haven't seen any of the XB line yet.

The alteration that people make to the pins, is to switch them around 180 degrees so they face inward instead of outward. It only takes two large wrenches.

The reason they make the changes is that the BX's 3pt arms don't open as far as some of the larger tractors. This means that you have to position the tractor "just right" to get the implment on.

Did you get the BX1800? Last I heard it was on hold...

No actually, the alteration is a bit more than swapping the pins around--some must be lowered as well as in the case of the KK rotary cutter. See thread under Attachments -- lowering pins. A fellow who has a 45 hosepower NH with a 6 foot cutter by Landpride had the same problem--pins to high. This problem is then not unique to the BX but is also the case with my 2410 also and at least one guy with a big NH product. I am not sure what some of these implements are intended to fit but it ain't a small compact tractor like my two. J

On my Massey 165, the clearance was tight using my 6' KingKutter... If they could just change the "hookup angle" on the A-frame like pictured on my Brown cutter... they would eliminate the problem... (KK's A-frame design is very simple/easy/cheap vs the recommended change I had suggested to them probably over 2 years ago...)

J,

I was under the impression that the trouble with the KK implements was with their standard line. I didn't realize that the XB lines had the same trouble with their Rotary Cutters.

Sorry, did not understand. I should think with the XB implements that no swapping or switching would be needed at all. My brief encounter with XB implements--a quick look cuz I was in a hurry---- made me think hook up would be easy. I went back to check them out in more detail and they are all gone. The brochure seems to confirm that they are set up for small tractors--quality is another issue--they did not seem bad to me but another TBN'r felt they were somewhat crude. J

Thanks guys, boy it would be nice if anyone has some knowledge of the quality. I checked prices and availability. It seems prices are comparable to the reg. KK stuff. They would not give all prices over the phone (store policy) but I was able to get a few from the sales guy. One example was the 24" dirt scoop. XB = $ 221 reg.KK = $ 238. But the reg. KK is in stock. The XB takes 3-4 weeks. I guess what I will do (once I get the tractor) will be to pick up a reg.KK and try it. If it doesn't work then take it back and order the XB. It seems you should be able to reverse the pins on the the carry all and box blade, thats what I will need first.

If you get the KK boxblade i might suggest the 42 inch instead of the 48 inch for your BX1800. I do not think that the 18 horse BX will be happy with the 48 inch KK. I think it would handle the 48 inch XB but there is 50 lbs difference there. I am not saying the little cat 0 42 inch which weighs 125 lbs but the cat 1 42 inch that weighs 320 lbs--model number BB-42. J

My dealer had a xb 48" box next to the regular 48" box. I went back to look at it again and it was HISTORY. The only difference I noted was that the height was about 4" less all around than the regular model. I do not remember if the pin spacing was different, but if it was, it didn't stand out.
