LS XG 3025 shuttle w/LL 3110 FEL
bought this tractor new almost 4 years ago. 2018 XG 3025. This was right about the time of the recall they had on some of them because of the frame/engine being off a couple thousands and causing an oil leak. I asked the dealer if this tractor was part of that recall, he assured me that it wasn't.

today, I was out in the yard rearranging some things in the yard with the loader, utilizing the pallet forks. I had just moved the bush hog, and went to next move the land plane that was beside it, looked down and saw something shiny laying on the ground. It was these 4 u-shaped pieces of metal laying there. very thin, stuck together with an oil coating. I can't find anywhere that's apparent they came out of, but they do look like they'd fit under the two bolts on the right side of the frame that connect to the motor. The bolts aren't loose, but dang if it don't look like they would go there.

anyone have any idea, if that's the spot or where they'd go if it's not?

Look at post #17 in this thread - maybe it's those shims? Wouldn't be oily though.

thanks! that could be it. I did look in that spot, those were the bolts I said don't appear to be loose, I wonder if that would appear to change if I pick up something with the loader. I'll try that today. I wonder if they put them in upside down, you know from the bottom instead of from the top. The dealer is open now, I'll give them a call sometime today. I'm out of the warranty period, so I don't know that it would do me any good to call them about fixing it, although I wonder if a recall issue is limited by a warranty time frame

Those are definitely shims... from where? Probably the frame fix. There should be NO problem to get the dealer to re-do the repair correctly

well I called the dealer yesterday morning. went to the voicemail/answering machine. Never got a response back from them at all. They're in the next town up, bigger town that we live in with more shopping and the wife wants to take 2 of the grandkids to do some shopping, so I'm heading up there with the shims in my pocket to ask them what we should do about it. Will let y'all know what they say

ok so I went by the dealer today.... it's been a while since I've been up there, and they've completely changed staff, everyone, sales office people, mechanics, everyone. But they were as helpful as they could be. Manager called the mechanic up. He said definitely shims, but couldn't say from where. however, he pointed out that one of them, the pic I'm putting on this post, has black paint on it. Would have been assembled then painted, so if I can find a spot that has bare metal in the shape of the arc of black paint on this shim, that's where they go.

when we got home, I was on my way to spread a mat to crawl under it, and tripped and fell and landed face first, luckily turned my head so the left side took most of the impact. had to lay there a few minutes just to get rid of the stars....such is the life. Tomorrow I'll get out there and crawl around under it. Since it's black paint, it doesn't make sense that it would have been between the blue loader frame and the black engine frame, so something under there somewhere is bare metal. I'm wondering one thing though, the last thing I picked up with the loader there was the bush hog, so I'm wondering if something under there is missing some shims, LOL I'll see about that tomorrow as well

Keep us posted! What area of black paint is on the shim? Just the edge Or the whole thing? The motor is black... the frame portion where the motor attaches is black.... part of the recall fix was to place shims between those 2 black pieces. That's the first place that I would look... should be on both sides.

I put the picture in the post right above your post, but here it is again. I have been under, over and around this tractor a dozen times looking for the spot these would go in, LOL I haven't figured it out yet. I may need to put something heavy on the FEL and have my wife pick it up while I watch to see if that shifts something enough I can see it, we just haven't had the time. I don't particularly need to use the tractor for anything this week, so I'll have a little more time to spend. oh, and there doesn't appear to be any on the other side of the motor either, so maybe mine was taken care of with whatever design change they came up with to fix it.

It's possible that they replaced the faulty section of frame. It's the area right where the engine bolts up. That portion is much thicker than previous models that had the problem/recall. Are the shims you found uniform thickness or are they tapered?

It's 4 really thin pieces that were together. It just doesn't look like that's where they came from thouh it does look like they would fit there perfectly. Going back to what the mechanic told me, doesn't make sense that's where they are from the way that paint is on there.
