MM: What is the website for that plow? I already have a winch. Do they sell only the blade and pivot hinges? Can you post a pix of the pivots where they attach to the Gator? That setup looks very slick using the winch to lift the blade. If the blade did bump something, the slack in the cable would allow the blade to jump up and then drop back down.

We got 2-3" of very wet snow here in western NC this week. I made a makeshift plow out of some scrap lumber and bolted it to the front of my tractor FEL. It worked OK, but the design would need to be improved if I used it on a regular basis. If I could make a plow for the gator, it would be better. No one is prepared for snow here because it happens so rarely. I plowed our 1.5 mile dirt road for all the neighbors. The main reason was to keep as much melting water off the road as possible for mud prevention reasons.

Is that blade heavy enough to grade a road or is it just for pushing snow?

I was thinking something similar. When I get my UTV I am going to have a winch anyway so the plow would not be that much more. I really do not need it as we have two loader tractors but I think for light snow removal it would be a lot easier for me to use a UTV to keep the drives open and use the tractors to push the banks back or for when we get heavy snows.

Nice pic's, I have the exact same plow for my XUV. I like it. I also broke my synthetic winch line lifting it while plowing the other day. I am not happy about that. Otherwise a good plowing machine. Gordon, this is a great snowplow, it is not really heavy enough for any real dirt or gravel plowing. It works just not well.

A buddy of mine has a blackline plow on his atv and it is very nice. They are pricey but you tilt and raise them with small electric motors that are built in. He also uses it for dirt since you have down pressure. To me it is worth the money, but I have to get my UTV first .
