Y385 VALVE ADJUSTMENT

We have 2 y385 engines that we purchased and used for pressure washer engines.
I think that i need to do some valve adjusting as one is making some noise and is hard to start. It is also blowing some smoke from the top vent.
Can anyone refer me to some how to manuals or advise as to what i should do?

If it is making a mechanical sounding knock it may be the injector is fouled and that would explain the smoke too. One way to check that is real easy is to wear eye protection and crack open the fuel line to each injector one at a time and see if the knock becomes a nice and quiet miss then you know it is a bad injector. A 5 minute fix. You can thank Chip from ARTRAC for training me to be a pretend diesel mechanic. He has a lot of good qualified advice. A lot of the things you see on the forums do not pertain to every engine as things do change from year to year. Make sure from a dealer what the proper valve clearances should be, because every single one I saw on the forums is wrong for my Kama 354C - Thanks again Chip for giving me the proper info!

Haven't heard from you for a long time...
If you get a chance, post the information on your Kama so others will know the correct valve clearance and procedure for that engine. It could help a lot of guys.

Sorry for being a stranger WCR,

I have been working so much I haven't had time to finish working on my tractor. I am going to re-do the valve clearances today. I will take pictures and post the pictures with the proper specs supplied by Chip/ ARTRAC.
