Has anyone noticed that GM's new heavy duty truck diesel is made by ISUZU. The Japs' economy is hurting badly, they can build engines there that are as reliable as anything on earth and for a better price than we can do it here in America. The major manufacturing countries are usually somewhat competitively priced but with the economy the way it is, manufacturers will build stuff at cost to stay afloat. The problem in the very near future is the trend to build in China and other low paying countries. This will be another wave of cost cuts to buyers but will kill many more jobs. 3rd world quality is still far enough behind to scare off smart people. but it is improving with American and other countries setting up facilities in these 3rd world countries. I bought my JD 4310 knowing the motor was made in Japan. Show me a truly all American made tractor and I'll give it good thought next time. If you took all the foreign parts off a Harley, you couldn't push it out of the garage. The JD was assembled in America, the company is American, some American's have jobs due to my purchase, so I don't feel bad about my purchase. P.S. Many English farmers steer clear of their homeland's equipment to buy JD. I know this to be true. Does everyone know what tractor companies are from there?
I do.
