I have few question about selling my Yanmar 1300d. Is E-bay worth doing or is it more hassle than its worth? Local paper a better idea? I bought it for a home I was buying, but the deal went sour, and I have a tractor I dont need now. Any help would be great!

I have sold a number of tractors by ebay and most of them Yanmars. Here's a few pointers.

1. Look on ebay right now and see if there are any 1300's, if so how are they priced? What do you want for yours?

2. Can yours compete with those on ebay? Is yours average, good, mint condition?

3. Are you offering any equipment with your tractor to sweeten the deal?

4. What is your feedback rating?

You might consider putting it in the classified section here on TBN. I can't comment on Ebay tractor sales...just haven't sold anything there.

How are tractor sales in your local paper? If there is allot of ag traffic that may be the way to go.

Well the tractor is actually pretty clean, and I installed a re-cored radiator that was repaired locally. The fella I bought it from thought that it needed the drive splines on the front left side replaced, but it seems fine to me? I've driven it around the yard with no problems/strange noises.
The local AG paper is pretty dead, and I dont have any attachments. I guess e-bay is the way to go? I hate giving them all that money. I guess I'll put it on e-bay for $1800-2k and see what happens. Thanks guys for all the help!

If there was any indication of gear and bearing wear it wouldn't show unless you run some tests in 4 wheel drive. I'd hate for you to lose a sale, but better safe than sorry. Price and availability of front end parts for that particular model are expensive. Other than that, it is a fine strong little tractor.

You could try posting it on Ezead America. It's a new site, small by ebay standards, but gets good coverage with a lot less commission and no hassles. Not even a credit card required. It's run by frank Raynor, who is very pleasant and helpful to deal with. also don't rule out TBN Clssifieds.
