Just came across this Tiller that's only a few hours away for a decent price, any thoughts.

Hey where's YanmarFever? That's where his shop was, he likely sold it to that guy. He would know best of all.

In my limited experience Yanmar tillers are indestructible, it should be good.

If it doesn't include the special top link then you will likely need longer 3-point arms and driveline to get it away from your tires. Some people weld on extensions to get the 3-point pins farther forward. It might be unreasonably expensive after dealing with all this.

1300mm is smaller than your YM2310 would have come with new considering YM2000 came with a 1400mm tiller.

I've seen advice here to replace the offside bearing with a sealed one, since in Japan those tillers run submerged and the bearing is likely rusty by now, 40 years later. And drain/refill the gearcase. There's usually condensation water in there.

Thanks California, the hook up is where I'm concerned and although I can tackle any mods I'd rather not so hopefully someone else can add to it.

1300 is fine for my purposes, I just like the idea of a Yanmar tiller after becoming acquainted with the indestructible nature of their equipment.

Ca, Its not one of ours, we painted and repaired all our tillers to look like new...

Yes it will work, HOWEVER as California mentioned, you will need the special top link bracket that connects the tiller your top link ...

I might have the manual for it. If you do get it, I'll look for it to post here. :)

Seller is telling me he had the top link fabricated so I asked for a pic which I'll post up later.

Here are pictures of the original top link assembly.

This rotates the top of the tiller out away from the tires, as the 3-point is raised.

Comments:
* This link was original on a YM2000. It was needed on my YM240 (YM2000 US version) to clear the 24 inch tires. But running the tiller on the much smaller YM186D shown here that has 16 inch tires, there's more room between the tiller and the tires.

*Also shown is the PTO extender (brass color) given me by the tiller seller. The driveline was originally too short, likely shortened to make room for an overrun clutch. The US Yanmars have an overrun clutch inside the PTO so I needed this extender to make up for not running an external overrun clutch.

*The device clipped on the top of the tiller is my weed cleanout tool. A linoleum knife driven into a piece of conduit. This tool will reach the center of the tiller from either side, and it's easy to use reaching in from behind the tiller.

*I've learned that mowing a week before tilling works better than trying to till tall weeds into the soil, standing weeds get all snarled up in the tines.

That's a big help knowing what it looks like, that's doable for me if what he has is ng.
