I am looking for a fuel filter that really fits my Yanmar 1500. I have tried the Wix 33262 & napa 3262. They barely fit, and are really about 1/8 inch too long. I notice Hoye tractor lists a filter for the 1500, but is it really any different from the ones I have tried? Has anyone out there tried the Hoye filter? Thanks for your help.

What's the factory Yanmar filter number. I can cross reference it if I have the factory number.

By the way, the Wix and Napa filters are the exact same filter. Wix makes all of Napa's filters. Napa just uses the last 4 digit's of the Wix filter number as their part number.

I did a cross reference check on Wix 33262 to a FleetGuard filter and it shows the FleetGuard number as FF5260.

FF5260 spec's are:

Inn. diam. bottom 0.4409 in.
Out. diam. bottom 1.3780 in.
Height 2.7362 in.

So why don't you consider one of the other very realistic possibilities....that perhaps someone put a non-OEM filter housing on the tractor?

As I recall you posted elsewhere about owning a YM1500 for 8-10 years. What have you been doing for a fuel filter all that time?

I have been using the napa filters since I bought the tractor, and as I said they will fit, but only if the filter is somewhat compressed. and the last one developed a hole where it was bent. . Unfortunately I no longer have the original filter that was on the tractor, so I have no Yanmar part #.
I do appreciate your input. Thanks
Greg

The YM1500 and YM2000 use the same bowl and filter, and the NAPA 3262 filter fits the YM2000 perfectly. Is the "O" ring missing or bad, or as LMTC suggested , wrong bowl.
