I am thinking of purchasing a 48'' 3 pt hitch finish mower for my 155D tractor and would like to ask if any one can comment on how well the cut will be with 4 wheels over the grass before the mower . Also , any model of mower that you would recommend, Regards, deans

I have been mowing with a 5 footer for several years and can't tell the tractor tires hurt a thing. I have had, no longer have, a Harbor Freight 5 footer. I don't remember the metal gauge but do know the Woods I have now is a much heavier built mower. Tires and bearings are much higher quality. I will say I don't think the Woods cuts one bit better than the Harbor Freight mower did. I don't think Harbor Freight sells them anymore. Rambled all that just to say sometimes you get what you pay for but then again sometimes you may not. Lot of help, huh. :D

Frontier "Woods"GM 1060R 5' 611 Lbs. 1072-6' 678 lbs. 1084-7' 774 lbs. Absolutly love mine. It's BA. esp. with non lift straight blades and R Discharge. Best mower I've ever owned and prob.ever will. Here's a 5' on a YM2000. I've never seen a 4' Woods but guessing easy 500lbs.

Carey, I purposefully took the lift off a set of my Woods blades, mainly because of the dust cloud in dry weather, but I wouldn't doubt it takes 5 less horsepower to turn them. I really can tell very little difference in the cut. They don't even sell the non lift straight blades for my mower. I looked by length, hole size, etc, etc, finally just cut the high lift off a set of gater blades. Not saying this is for everybody, but works for me.

Yep!! I was finding that out myself when I went to sharpen the High Lift that the LIFT WEARS OUT QUICK!!!!! Sharpen them up and they cut about the same. I believe a Lower grade of metal to make the bend for the lift is why . BUT Boy the local the local JD sure was proud of them at 25$ each. I now why now. I've had them almost 2yrs. with no sign of any wear. May be at the end of the blade which is normal. :D
