Hi,
my name is gino in michie tn. when i engage the pto, (there are 3 on this model) and i use pto 2, it is sometimes difficult to dis-engage it when using it. what are some of the remedies to make it more easier. all my fluid levels are full.

if it has not been used, the detents are probably pretty stiff.

also, try not to have any tension on when shifting.. IE.. not bound up, use clutch..e tc..

Does this tractor have a two stage clutch out of adjustment maybe?

being relatively new in handling tractors, i'm not sure what you are saying about the clutch. after mowing, and getting ready to take a break, it is just difficult to dis-engage. i am currently using the "armstrong" method by going down to pto 1 and then TRYING to get it back into neutral to stop the pto from turning. thanks to responding...(almost forgot to say, yes I do have the clutch engaged) gino

thanks to all who responded to my pto query. I was in decater, al. where the yanmars are re-furbished, and one of the parts dept employees gave me this info. come to a complete stop and put the tranny in neutral. rock the tractor in and out of either 1st gear or reverse while putting the pto lever in neutral. do this once or twice and things should sync and the lever will go in the neutral position dis-engaging the pto. i tried this when i got home and voila!!! it worked like he said it would.
