I'am going to look at a 1702D shortly ,suppose to have 500 hrs. on it and he says it's mint. Set of ag tires and a set of turf tires goes with it plus a spreader for seed and a back blade. He's asking $4000.00 for it does that sound like a fair price? Thank's. Mark

If it is Mint as he says, it sounds pretty good - Fredericks has it for the below - However, consider that is with 6 month warranty - Also has the rollbar, PTO shield etc, manual, all new filters etc. Of course the added spreader and blade has value too! Definitely worth checking out. Let us know what happens

I would think that because it is 4WD and has 2 sets of tires it's worth the money if it is in mint shape.

Does it have the ROPS (I think that is worth about $650).

One advantage is you won't have to pay any tax.

Ask him if he has the manual and any hydraulic fluid or filters to go with it.

Well I went and looked at the 1702D, I wouldn't call it mint but it look's to be in good shape and look's nice, orig. paint on hood & fender's ,running gear has been repainted. There is 542 hrs on the clock no ROP's there is a pto guard Japanese sticker's all over it (grey market), turf tires and rim's look brand new, ag tire's have a lot of tread left, front tire's aren't all that great. He thought the ag tire's were original and there Bridgstone's he said it had 200 hr's on it when he bought it in 2000 , which bring's up a question what is the ratio of tire wear from front to back. If this has 542 orig. hr's on it and the back tires have about 75% tread left and the front has about 25% tread left does that sound about right for this amount of hr's ? The rear blade that come's with is a cheap one and kinda beat up, he bought it at TSC and the seed spreader is a little rusty but look's ok. Engine sound's good front end weep's a little oil if it set's along time he wont take less than $4000.00 is it worth it ? Mark

I think it's going to take him quite a while to sell it at that price - I'd wait about 3 weeks and see if he's negotiable then.

He said he turned down an offer of $3500.00 from someone else said he would just keep it if he didn't sell for $4000.00. One thing I didn't like about it was the clutch, it was uncomfortable for me the way it engaged ,you had to lift your foot straight up and it then engaged clear up at the top of travel. I suppose it was big enough for me but I wouldn'd mind getting one around 25 HP.thank's for the info rgood. Mark

Why not check with wayne ? I don't know how far apart you guys are, but for a few more $ you may can get a larger tractor with all the safety equip & a warranty
