Yanmar 177

I recently purchased a Yanmar 177, not sure what year it is. I am having a hard time finding a repair manual for it. The PTO is on continuously and will not shut off. Any thoughts on this problem or where I might find a repair manual? Thanks, Gary in Oklahoma.

Welcome to tbn. There is a yanmar forum to ask these questions but your tractor is from what I understand extremely rare and difficult to find parts for. The good news is yanmars are very reliable tractors and your best bet is to reach out to Hoye tractor parts and Fredrick's equipment. Fredrick's is the only US authorized refurbisher of YM tractors. Coldwater tractors may be able to find parts as we'll. Assuming you made sure the pto is not engaged, right? Some pto shafts spin when the fluid is cold due to the fluid running though the pto. Mine does this and then stops when it's warmed up.

Thanks Scotty for the quick response. I hope I didn't make a bad decision purchasing this tractor, it came with a brush hog and angle blade and is real clean for $1500. Yes, the PTO was not engaged. I'll let it warm up a bit and see if it slows down.
