Yanmar 186 crack in cast iron housing

I'm curious what model backhoe did this?

If I could find one small enough for my YM186D then I would no longer need my YM240 that is now dedicated to a 3-point backhoe. I'm sure my present hoe mounted 3-point on the YM186D would be a disaster, so I'm looking for the proper smaller hoe that came with YM186D originally. I hope it wasn't that model hoe that damaged your YM186D.

I don't recognize that backhoe but it looks gorgeous with the nice paint.

I like that bar that the operator faces, you have something to lean on if you stand up to look at the excavation. There is nothing like that on the Kubota/Yanmar backhoe I have (on the YM240) in fact I added a handle to the rear of the hydraulic controls for better balance as I climb up to the seat. This picture of an Ebay Yanmar with same backhoe I have, shows what I mean. There's nothing to grab on to and some risk of bumping the control levers.

Looking at your photo of the loader mount, maybe extending an under carriage clear from the backhoe to the front bumper would reduce the stresses that caused that crack.

Hi Cal yes I added that pipe when I rebuilt the hoe as i had nothing to hold onto when getting up and down of the seat , and as you said its handy when your up there too having a look over at the excavation.

When I split the tractor I will look at adding support to the sub frame from the front to rear as you mentioned.
