Ok I've got a pretty serious leak I'm pretty sure is coming out of the front axle seal as the knuckle seal is brand new and no oil whatsoever leaking from it. The oil drips down the inside of my right front wheel well and I'm losing about half a quart per 3-4 hours work. I have removed the knuckle and taken it apart all the way down to that last bearing. I removed the snap ring and thought it would release that axle and I could replace the seal, at least that's where I think the seal is but the axle will not fall out or separate from the housing. Is there a trick to getting it to separate or do I hve to have it pressed out? You can see in the 2nd pic the 2 pieces are still attached.

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: I believe you are correct. If the #12 snap ring on the splined side is removed then the shaft should go back through the bearing. Might try putting the bearing housing up on blocks, then striking the shaft with a good piece of hardwood and a large hammer. Just needs a little more persuasion. Yanmar Tractor Parts: 4WD INTERNAL

Yanmar Tractor Parts 4WD STUB AXLE Interesting the studs are screwed in the back side of this stub axle. Maybe for shipping purposes?
