yanmar 336d clutch

I have a 1987 336d. The clutch will not disengage. I have taken off the inspection plate and can see that the pressure plate is coming off the disc. I sprayed the disc with brake clean. Put the bucket against bank with depressed pedal and spun all four tires. Any suggestions.

Might try going to "search" and type in stuck clutch under yanmar. Good luck!

Lock the clutch lever down and just let it run for a couple of hours at 1500 rpm.

hook up a brush hog, get it spinning and work the clutch a couple times....it has always worked for me.

My 2 cents worth the clutch is most likely IMO rusted to the flywheel, so even if the PP is releasing visibly the clutch disc may still have a mechanical connection to the trans thru the stuck disc or else the pilot brg (if it has one?) is frozen thats all it can be one or the other. Keep operating the tractor with the clutch pedal depressed it should free up thats the idea anyway.

This happens to vehicles that sit especially in humid areas, I have seen Yanmars IE my buddys 2820D with a lock mechanism on the clutch pedal that locks the pedal down so this doesnt happen. My 3810D doesnt have it and yours may not either fwtw? hth

My 1610D has the lock down lever for the clutch. If you have one of these after you get it fixed just be sure to lock the pedal down after you shut down to be sure it doesn't happen again.

When I bought my Yanmar, fresh out of the shipping container, it had the clutch latch, but a lot of them had an ornate wooden stick in the tool box especially for locking the clutch down. A lot of guys may have discarded them, not knowing what they were.
