Yanmar 336D

I have a friend who is interested in selling his 1991 Yanmar 336D 4x4. It has 450 hours. Options: front end loader, 60" brush hog, 60" tiller, 66" box scraper, augar, backhoe and a 16' tantum axle tilt trailer. We are just in the discussion stage and a price has not been mentioned. The machine is in good shape except for faded paint. No dents! Any thoughts on what a fair price would be?

For comparison-
1983 YM336D (4x4), a little surface rust, a few small dents, ag tires, 1861 hours, FEL with 2 buckets, canopy-$8500 in upstate NY. Search for YM336D and you'll find some pictures....

I can give you a price for the Denver area for the YM336D . I watched three sell last year and all would meet these conditions: with factory loader, box blade or blade, worked hard but had good maintenance and no mechancal problems. All had varying degrees of body damage and all were over 1000 hours. Tires were all Ag type (no turf) and were in usable but worn shape. They had the typical oil leaks, but not bad. The one that ran the smoothest but was severly beat up body was the least expensive at just under $10K. The most expensive was just over $11500. They all sold quickly. Price for any Yanmar in the Denver area is high due to the good dealer support and reputation.
Two machines that sold in the Washington and Oregon area went around $7500-8500 without implements. I did not see them but they sounded the same condition.
I saw a near new one go for almost double that price a few years ago, and also heard of one like you are looking for including the backhoe attachment at $6000 for all!! Wish I'd been there.....

The 2001 Intertec Used Tractor Price Guide lists the 1989 (last factory year) between $5700-$7300. I think these are Auction prices compiled from the previous year. Obviously they are low compared to the real world. The trailer and implements would add $7000-9000 if you got a good deal. The 336D is a very useful tractor and a late model one is one you want to go after.
