While my Yanmar has been laid up for repairs for a while the battery has gone dead and I have decided to replace it. It must be over 10 years old but since my Yanmar starts instantly it has never failed me before.

I know I can jump out the wires to make the water level light go out but I would like to make it work if possible. Are there any batteries sold in the US that the sending unit would fit in? Or has anyone figured an easy way to customize the sending unit so it would work in an American battery?

Tally, only if you find a cap that fits an American battery off of your japanese batt can you make it work.

Plus the water level has to be the same. If it were me I would snip the wires and put an end to it.

If you can do it, that would be great

How often does a batt need water?;)

I've been toying with the idea of turning mine into a parking brake idiot light.
