Yanmar diesel on a Gravely Promaster 360

Greetings, new member here. Havin some issues with the mower. It all started with my brother running it hot and blew a hole in the coolant reservoir. Got it replaced and have had issue after issue with it ever since. After puttin a new tank on it, it ran fine for about 30 minutes and then it just powered down til it died. Never sputtered or anything. Just slowly lost power. Had to bleed the injectors to get it to start again. Ran fine for another 30 minutes and did the same thing. Finally drained the fuel tank and put new fuel lines on it and thought I had solved the issue.
Got it running again after bleeding the injectors, realized it was in low speed range so I shut it off to put it in high range and now just get a single click sound when tryin to start it. If ya jump the solenoid it will crank over so Id say the starter is fine. Obviously I am not a mechanic so go easy on me. I tried to pinpoint the clickin sound and think it may be comin from the fuel shutoff solenoid. If it has failed would i be gettin a click sound when turning the key? Or does this solenoid have nothing to do with the actual starting the engine and just deals with the fuel aspect?
Any help would be appreciated as I am about to push this thing off in the pond. Mower is an absolute beast when running properly but this is becoming frustrating.

WAG, is the Fuel tank cap venting properly?
.....or some other fuel delivery issue. Just wondering if the overheating part of this situation is coincidental ?

In the early stages of figuring out the issue I replaced the cap thinkin maybe a lil bit of rust came off the float rods and was possibly gettin sucked into the fuel line so that shouldn't be an issue.
