Yanmar F215D: What type of pre heat?

I am working on a model F215D belonging to some friends of mine. It is apparent that the owners are not that familiar with their own tractor even after 5 years of ownership. As is likely typical for a grey model they received it with no documentation.
Aaron at Hoye Tractor has been kind enough to provide a wiring diagram in response to my solicitation in the above mentioned thread. Upon studying the diagram provided it is apparent that some form of pre heat is present along with what may be an associated timer or relay. Since only a single heating element is depicted rather that three as I would expect for glow plugs I am wondering if this model uses the Yanmar thermostart system. While I wasn't looking for it, I nonetheless do not recall seeing the little fuel container that is associated with thermostart. Is it possible that Yanmar uses some type of heater in the intake airstream without burning fuel as is the case with their thermostart system? My questions are as follows:
1) What form of pre heat does this model use and does it have an associated timer?
2) If it has a timer is there an associated light on the dash that should illuminate during the heating cycle?
3) I am still hoping someone can identify the function on this electrical device located near the voltage regulator

you turn the key backward , there is a timer , its about 8 sec. there is a light. the row of 4 red lights it is the top one. it will go on when you turn the key backward and turn off in 8 seconds or so. I usually use the decompression pull and turn it over till I have oil pressure. then use the thermal start. oh and there is not a fuel holding tank.

F215 has glow plugs on a timer set off by 1st key position. Mine has a light on the dash indicating that the glow plugs are on. Normally only takes 5 or 10 seconds ... once light extinguishes turn key further to start.

Nevis, is that 1st key position CW rather that anti-CW as runningbird above appears to be suggesting? Is that light in the main instrument cluster or located below? Thanks for the input.

Look for a wire that reaches the manifold, investigate. It my go back to your mystery (timer) box.

Doest that model that the auto draft function or UFO or whate very it is called. Maybe that is the computerm box that controls that auto position of the 3pt?

Aaron is one of the ones that said these tractors are so complex and there is nothing that is written in English about them and you basically have to be an electrical engineer that likes to tinker to mess with, fix, troubleshoot, and figure thsee things out.

Based upon some info provided by Aaron it appears that this model, F215, was available both with and without the "UFO" device. The particular one I am working on does not have the UFO. I am an electrical engineer BTW.

It looks like it uses an intake heater plate like a lot of the other newer diesel engines.
