I have been surfing through the Yanmar threads and not a single mention of my model of tractor F395D. I would like to compare notes and views of my recent buy. Does anybody else own one? Thanks
"Newer 3 digit "F" series tractors like F195, F395, as well as the newer single digit "F" series like the F5, F6, F7 etc. These are still very new to the US and there are no operation manuals or service manuals for them. Parts availability is VERY limited at this time. It will probably get better but it could still be many years before the parts supply starts to catch up. WARNING- These tractors are loaded with very complex electronics and are almost completely computer controlled. For example, the three point lever on most of these models is now even computer controlled! The lever attaches to a potentiometer which controls electric operated valves. With no English service manuals or wiring diagrams we have a hard time recommending these tractors to anyone but adventurous electronic engineers . The great thing about the Yanmar tractors has always been that the average Joe with a test light, torque wrench, and a service manual could fix just about anything on the tractor. This is no longer true starting with the introduction of the F series models. They are very complex (compared to the YM series) machines."
Thanks for the quick replys. I thought maybe it was one of the older models lol. and would be easy to work on. Oh well it,s running well other than the slight leak on the front left seal as I mentioned on my previous post. It only has 3000 hours on it. I paid $ 10,000 Canadian no tax. not sure if that was a good buy or not. I do have a local McCormick dealer who has previously serviced it so that helps
Wow, that F395 is a full size tractor. If in great shape, then the 10K is reasonable. evdiesels.com shows a bunch of engine parts for your tractor. I've never dealt with them, but their listing with pix is long.
Definitely not one of the "old" ones . As has been said the old simple ones are the YM models. That picture even looks like a more modern tractor. Not like the ones today but definitely not a 70s model
