Yanmar 1500
I grabbed the front wheel on my Yanmar 1500 yesterday, gave a little pull at the top of the wheel and was surprised at the amount of play. I'm betting the previous owners never did any checking of the wheel bearings and was thinking of pulling them out, greasing them and putting them back in. Since the manual shows them to be ball bearings and not tapered roller bearings like I'm used to seeing in cars, what can I expect? I'm assuming you don't preload them like auto wheel bearings and if there is a lot of play, then you just replace them with new bearings. The manual only addresses play in the kingpin, but not in the axle itsself. What has your experience been as to when it's time to change those front bearings? My front wheels are 3 rib 4.00 - 12's.

All help and insight is appreciated!
